FERNAND ST. AMANT July 4, 1931 - November 17, 2017 Fernand (Fern) St. Amant, of Saint-Jean- Baptiste, passed away peacefully at the Emerson Care Home at the age of 86 years. Fern is survived by his wife of 58 years Lucille (nee Tougas), his sons Michel, Alain (Nadereh), daughter Françoise Sabourin (Aurèle), four grandchildren, Kayla Rose (Dustin), André, Daniel and Donna, three great-grandchildren, Bennett, Gillian and Leo. He also leaves to mourn his brothers: George (Pat) and Bernard (Barb); sisters: Isabelle Labossière, Annette Bazinet (Henry), Evelyn Schiewe (Wilfred); sisters-in-law: Cecile, Doris and Cora St. Amant, Raymonde DePape, Lucienne Tougas and Patricia Lanovaz, and brothers-in-law Roland Bazinet (Basia) and Gérald Tougas (Louise-Marie). He was predeceased by his parents Clovis and Yvonne (Grégoire); brothers: Roméo, Marc, Gilles, sister Raymonde Bazinet, sister-in-law Rose and brother in law Herman Labossière. Fern was a quiet and humble man who truly appreciated the smallest things in life. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. He was a hardworking man, spending 35 plus years working at Roy Legumex. Fern was an active community member serving on numerous committees and organizations. In 1991 he found a true passion for community theatre, participating for several years with Théâtre Montcalm. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at 4:30 p.m. in the Saint-Jean-Baptiste Roman Catholic Church. Inurnment will follow at the parish cemetery. The family wishes to thank the staff of the Morris Hospital and the Emerson Personal Care Home for their excellent care during Fern's brief stay.
