OLGA (OLLIE) ANNE WERBICKI (nee KASIAN) It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Olga (Ollie) Anne Werbicki on November 25, 2017. She left us peacefully in her sleep, at the Maples Personal Care Home in Winnipeg, MB, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's. She was 86 years old. Ollie was born on December 10, 1930 in Winnipeg, MB to her parents, Dmytro and Nastia Kasian. She lived and went to school in Tolstoi, MB. She married Michael Bernard (Bernie) Werbicki on May 9, 1953 in Tolstoi. Ollie worked as a Teacher's Aide at Ralph Brown School, which she enjoyed and after many years of serve she reluctantly retired. Ollie was a devout Catholic and during her retirement she spent many years contributing her time with the Women's League of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, involved in numerous church activities. Ollie enjoyed gardening and in the fall, canning her fruits and vegetables and sharing them with her friends. In the summer Ollie loved spending time in Tolstoi. She also enjoyed visiting with her numerous friends and family. Ollie is survived by her sons Michael Allen, and Daniel Andrew, and grandson Corey Lee. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernie; her daughter, Theresa; her sister Bernice, and her parents. The family would like to thank the staff at Maples Personal Care Home, 2nd floor, West Wing for all the love and care they gave Mom the last four years. Funeral liturgy will be celebrated at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, 737 Bannerman Avenue on Friday, December 1, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Holy Family Cemetery, 4355 Main Street, followed by a luncheon in the church basement.
