My condolences to the family... I recall Claire and family being at our farm (Paul Bernier's) in Fisher Branch many times over the years, some good times at family gatherings. I also saw Claire at work. When I worked at Burns Meats, she was there working in the cafeteria. - Posted by: Jocelyne Bernier Slough (cousin) on: Dec 03, 2018

Mom, I miss you every minute of the day. I still shed tears and will for the rest of my days until I see you again. I think back to the days of the type of relationships we had - that of you being not just Memere to Brett and Lisa but their caregiver when I worked; their transportation to school; the person who helped tend to them when they were sick. You saw them through their celebrations and their disappointments. You showed them love all your life. As they grew so did we as not just mother/daughter but close friends. We did our movie nights, concerts and US getaways and Mahnomen Golf trips with Hydro. When you got sick in 2014, who would have thought that those times would be replaced with me being your primary caregiver pretty much every night for 3 years! You trusted me enough to run your errands, do your groceries/laundry, give you your showers and your palliative workers. You confided in me your feelings of your sickness and when the day would come that you would be here no more. No matter how sick you were, you spoke of your kids/grandkids and great grandkids and how you loved them so much. I have seen you fight some very tough times in the last several months and know that you were such a fighter. Even in your sickest days you still managed to keep that sense of humour! I thank Garnet and Lynne for being my support when I couldn't be there the odd day as they made it so much easier for me when I needed a break. Oh, let's not forget Vi and Claudette who would help out when I needed someone with you I could trust. You enriched so many people's lives by being you Ma. I looked forward to your morning phone call everyday and our nightly visits with a Tim's and an old fashioned plain donut. You were the rock for me Ma. You became a part of who I am today and I thank you for the things you have taught me. I know you are at peace now, no more suffering and for that I am grateful. You will forever remain in my heart, memories and my life. Say Hi to my beautiful son Jarrod in the heavens if you haven't done so already. Love....Deb - Posted by: Debbie (Daughter) on: Dec 14, 2017

Hi Mom, Garnet here. I miss you so much. Every second or third night I would call you at night time to see how you’re doing. I know you’re in a good place now. I know you said in your last couple of days that you have to buy Christmas presents for your grandkids and great grandkids. I’ve done your wishes Mom. Debbie and I, we’ve never had a problem looking after you for the past two years. I know you thought it was a lot of asking to take you to appointments. We did not mind. Rest in peace Mom, I love you. Garnet - Posted by: Garnet Paul Meilleur ( Oldest son ) on: Dec 13, 2017

It's hard to say any words that could help me fill the emptiness i feel in my heart. I try to remind myself of the good memories we had listening to music, BBQ's in the back yard, bonfires, and Caesars on the deck. You loved your grandkids and cheered for their accomplishments. I know you did the best you could with the little amount of money you had for your kids and grandkids. You loved our pets as if they were your own. Even though there were times when we were distant, I loved you with all my heart. I'm glad God brought us back together. I hope the prayers we said together gave you comfort towards the day I was blessed to able to hold your hand as you took your last breath. I love you mom. - Posted by: Noel Marcel Meilleur () on: Dec 02, 2017
