MARIA HAUSNER It is with great sadness to announce that Maria Hausner (nee Geltinger) of Winnipeg, previously of Lowe Farm, passed away Friday, November 24, 2017 after a brief illness at the Grace Hospital, at the age of 85. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of her life will be held at the Morris Funeral Home Chapel, next year in May. Maria was born September 4, 1932 and grew up in Walperstetten (Bavaria, Germany) along with two younger sisters, (Augustine and Josefa). She married Georg Hausner, November 28, 1958 and together they enjoyed a happy marriage and raised two children. Maria leaves to mourn daughter Christa and son-in-law Hermann; son Georg and daughter-in-law Xiaofang; and grandchildren, Stefan and Andreas. Maria was predeceased by her husband Georg (2008) and her youngest sister Josefa (1989). In 1978, she moved to the Lowe Farm area (Manitoba) and operated along with dad, a small grain farm. Mom was always a humble person and liked to be busy. Mom had a passion for the land, enjoying gardening and long walks with her loyal companion Rex. She always enjoyed family, cooking up a storm of great food. Late 2007, mom and dad moved to Winnipeg to be closer to family and to enjoy retirement. After dad's passing in 2008, mom kept exploring her new neighbourhood with extended walks and mom also enjoyed quiet times reading an endless number of books. The family would like to thank the dedicated staff at the Grace Hospital for her care and Dr. Fraser (Morris Hospital) for taking care of her health needs for over 30 years.
