Date of Passing: Nov 30, 2017
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGRAZIA ESPOSITO After suffering a long fight with cancer, Grazia who was a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and wife has begun a new journey in her heavenly home along side her parents, Fortunato and Anna Sgarlata, on Thursday, November 30, 2017. She was born June 14, 1933 in Termini Immerese, Italy (Sicily). She immigrated to Canada, October 7, 1967 with her husband Leonardo and three sons, Pietro, Fortunato, and Maurizio. Regardless of her lack of formal education and inability to speak English she spent the next 15 years working in a factory sewing piece-work. She retired to look after her three sons, and did an amazing job as a housewife and mother. Grazia is survived by her husband and three sons, her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren; as well as her two sisters in Winnipeg, three sisters in Italy, and many nieces and nephews. We thank all the doctors, nurses and staff at both the Palliative Care Unit on the 8th floor at St. Boniface Hospital, and at Deer Lodge Centre for their great support and care of Grazia. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 5 at 11:00 a.m. in Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 510 River Ave. Condolences and viewing will be held one-hour prior, entombment will follow at Holy Angel Mausoleum, Green Acres Cemetery. Deepest condolences to all the family especially her sons Maurizio Tino and Peter and my nieces Grace and Catrina and all her family and friends blessed to know her. She was hard working, strong, generous and loved her family. I remember her at all the birthdays and Christmas celebrations and how proud she was of her grandchildren. Even though she didn't speak English she still managed to visit and talk to us and she always had a smile for us. It was sweet to see her talk to my grandparents in Italian while they spoke to her in French and they all communicated quite well. Rest in peace "Nonna". - Posted by: Dorée Sabourin (Family) on: Dec 02, 2017
