PAUL ISFELD Paul Isfeld, was born on November 9, 1929 in Winnipeg Beach, Manitoba. He passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 12, 2017, at the Gimli Community Health Centre. He is lovingly missed by his wife of 65 years, Olan, as well as his three children and their families: Lana (Barry), Paulette, and Sandy (Marianne). He is survived by eight grandchildren, Rhett (Holly), Russell, Hayley (Jamie), Arthur, Trisha, Brandon (Alora), Ryan and Carly; as well as eight great-grandchildren, Daniel, Hannah, Drew, Lilija, Tristen, River, Brooke and Cali. Paul was the 7th of 10 children. He is predeceased by his siblings Alec, John, Hilda, Laura and Oliver, and is survived by his brother Edward Isfeld, and sisters Aurora Chalmers, Anna Russell and Vi Tennant. As the son of his father Oli, Paul was a fisherman on the waters of Lake Winnipeg for many decades and was greatly appreciated by his customers who bought fish from him in his wonderful fish shack, where people came from all over to spend time with him. His grandkids absolutely adored him and he was a master story teller. After a lengthy career at Seagrams in Gimli, he retired in 1992. Paul was an amazing man that was loved by his family and friends. He was the favourite uncle, cousin and a hero to his grandchildren. Paul will never be forgotten by his grandchildren for how he played with them, took them to his fish shack for shots and told them outrageous stories along with hilarious jokes. Paul's greatest gift was giving his time and this will never be forgotten, but forever missed. Paul had a gift for story telling and often had a room in tears with laughter. He made every day more memorable with his charm. He and Olan enjoyed many winter vacations over the years in their favourite place of Hawaii, and he was famously known for wearing his Hawaiian shirts on many occasions. His great personality and charm is missed. God bless you Paul. A memorial service and celebration of Paul's life will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. in the Gimli Lutheran Church, #50 - 3rd Avenue, Gimli. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Condolences may be left at www.gilbartfuneralhome.com Gilbart Funeral Home, Gimli in care of arrangements.
