Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROLAND LANDRY Born January 5, 1926, peacefully, on Thursday, December 28, 2017, Roland passed away at the age of 91 years at Foyer Notre Dame de Lourdes. Beloved husband of late Rollande Landry (née Cloutier) of Somerset Manitoba, married 64 years, Roland leaves to cherish his children, Michel (Elaine), Raynald (Catherine), Normand (Lise) and Johanne (Louis); and his grandchildren, Danièle (Philippe), Paul, Marc, Natalie (Cameron), Sylvie (Josh), Janelle, Charles, Vincent, Jérome and Benjamin; and his great-grandchildren, Danika, Élise and Rémi. He also leaves to mourn, his brother Léo; and sisters-in-law, Laurette and Denise Landry. Roland is predeceased by his brother Gérard. Roland, a Korean War vet and an airframe tech, retired from the Canadian Armed Forces (RCAF) in 1976. He was an active member in his Somerset parish community and in the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed gardening and prided himself in being one of the first in the community to plant his large garden and reap of its fruits. Prayers will take place on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. at the Notre Dame de la Nativité Parish, Somerset, Manitoba. Interment will take place immediately afterward. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Adam's Funeral Home of Notre Dame de Lourdes, Manitoba in care of arrangements. Roland and Rollande, as well as his father, owned adjacent farms to ours in Somerset, Manitoba.. always a helping hand or 2 when it was needed.. Roland wore his Armed Forces uniform, very smartly and with great pride on many occasions. I also taught several of his children, also in Somerset.. His entire family will always be remembered with fondness and gratitude..
