FREDERICK WINSTON SAUNDERS JR. April 2, 1969 - December 28, 2017 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dearly loved brother, and best friend on Thursday, December 28, 2017, at the age of 48, after a lengthy battle with cancer. Winston was predeceased by his mother Evelyn in 2011, and leaves to mourn his passing, his father Frederick Sr., sisters Sherry-Lynn and Pearl and much extended family. Fred was always good with numbers and graduated from the Red River College Business Administration program where he majored in accounting. He was working in the finance department at Jostens when he met two of his closest friends, Barb and Cynthia. He enjoyed their many weekend trips to Grand Forks, camping in Gimli and evening bonfires at Cynthia's. After leaving Jostens, he went to work at Qualico as an Accountant. He always spoke very fondly of the team at Qualico. Fred liked working, but he really liked his weekends. He enjoyed listening to music and attended many concerts and live shows. Fred was also a huge sports fan and loved going to Winnipeg Jets and Winnipeg Blue Bomber games with his sisters and friends. He also enjoyed some quiet time relaxing with his three cats Milo, Rusty and Missy. Anyone who knew Fred, knows he loved to talk. Whether it was current events, politics, or GM vs. Ford, Fred had an opinion and wasn't shy about sharing it. If you wanted a shoulder to cry on or a lively debate, Fred was your man. A fun co-worker, a great friend, a fantastic brother and an amazing son; Fred will be sorely missed by all of those who were lucky enough to know him. We would like to thank the many doctors and nurses at CancerCare Manitoba - Health Sciences Centre unit and Riverview Health Centre - East Wing Palliative Care Unit for all their loving care they provided to Fred. A special thank you to Fred's Auntie Hazel Mestagh and cousin Stacey Mestagh Doerksen for all their love and support they provided during such a difficult time. A private service to celebrate Fred's life will be held in the Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald Street. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in honour of Frederick Saunders Jr. to CancerCare Manitoba. The Coutu Family in care of arrangements: E. J. COUTU CO.
