JAMES VERNE MCCOMAS April 26, 1957 - December 31, 2017 It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Jim McComas on December 31, 2017. Jim's memory will be forever cherished by his mother Maxine McComas; brothers, Brian (Sharon) and Don (Noye); and nieces and nephews, Kyle, Leone, Natalie (Matt), Lana, Alexander and Alan. Jim was predeceased by his father Verne McComas. Jim was born April 26, 1957 to Verne and Maxine in North Bay, Ontario. As a child he enjoyed many visits with his brothers to the family farms in Saskatchewan and Dauphin and later working with his father on the family tree farm. In his youth, Jim was an avid reader and thinker, and he maintained a keen interest in various progressive music genres. Many happy summers were spent camping across Canada with family and friends. Visits with the cousins were always a highlight along with the trips to Grand Beach with his friends. Jim excelled in school, taking engineering courses and later obtaining a Bachelors of Arts degree. He also continued his education in Electronics studies at Red River College. Jim was a thoughtful, generous, shy, gentle soul who loved his family, his cars, coffee, shopping, and baseball caps. We will all miss him deeply. A private family service will be held at a later date. Donations can be made in Jim's memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Manitoba.
