Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySADIE MAE PLETT (nee SNYDER) April 13, 1929 January 2, 2018 Suddenly on January 2, Sadie passed away at the age of 88 with her daughter by her side at Golden Links Lodge. We are left with wonderful memories that will sustain us while we grieve, yet rejoice in her release. Mom touched many of us in very special ways sometimes with humor and laughter, sometimes with sadness and tears, and sometimes we even had different opinions, but always there was love. Mom had a kindred spirit and quick wit that will be missed by many. Sadie's strength and memory will live on and be cherished by her daughters, Donna Anderson (Duane) of Winnipeg, Glenda Holod (Kas) of Morden and son Lyle Plett (Eliza) of Winnipeg. Grandchildren Mark, Charlotte, Michelle, Denise and four great-grandchildren. Sadie was predeceased by husband Jake in 1991, daughter Aylene Klassen in 2009 and brother Bob Snyder in 2014. Mom was born and raised in Morden and returned often to visit family and friends. Throughout her life she moved frequently in Manitoba and Saskatchewan due to her husband's career. Never residing in any given place for more than seven years but she always made each new place homey and inviting where everyone was always welcome. However, once Dad retired, Winnipeg became their home. Before Mom became wheelchair bound she enjoyed bowling, long walks, shopping and going for coffee. Her happiest times were spent with her family and her proudest moments were of her children's accomplishments. She never criticized them for the paths they took or the choices they made. Sadie was a Rebeka member for more than 30 years and during that time held many positions on the board. She was in a bowling league for many years while residing in Portage la Prairie and was very fashion conscious, always wearing the latest styles with shoes and purses to match her outfits. Mom will be missed each and every day by her family. As she lived her life, so she passed, with dignity, poise and grace. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to doctors, nurses, health care aides and support staff at the Golden Links Lodge for their kind, respectful and compassionate care where Mom resided for the past seven years. Mom thought of Golden Links Lodge as her home. In keeping with Mom's wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue with reception to follow. Mother You can only have one Mother loving, kind and true. No other friend in all the world will be so true to you. For all her loving kindness, she asked for nothing in return. If all the world deserted us to our Mother we could turn. For those of us who have a Mother, treasure her with care, for you will never know her value, till you see that she's not there, to hear her voice, to see her smile, to sit and talk with her awhile, to be together in the same old way, would be our dearest wish today. We Love you Mom and always will! Thank you for all your love, support and guidance throughout the years. Thank you for the gift of life. We will miss you A private interment beside her husband will take place at a later date in Portage la Prairie. My memories of cousin Sadie go back to when she and her family resided in Whitewater Mb. I was a younger cousin, more of the age of her daughters, all my memories of her were good ones, and these memories will live on , until I join her, I find it quite amazing that she looked so much like her Mom.Bless you Sadie! Many of her off spring would more likely, remember my sister Linda Hughes , and our mother Susan Wiebe (Neufeld) - Posted by: Johnny Wiebe (Cousin on my mother's side) on: Jan 08, 2018
