Joan and I were at the old Manitoba Teachers' College together. My memories of her were of a warm, considerate friend- who had the brightest smile, and sparkling eyes. Joan was a super basketball player- and was always ready to join her wide circle of friends in all activities. We were very young- and determined to change the world for the better. We all tried- with varying degrees of success, but Joan really did . Her devotion to her family, and to her profession touched so many lives. My best to her family. I will always see the slim, dark haired , eighteen year old coming in to the residence with "What's new, kids?" and a huge smile.... - Posted by: Peggy (MacDonald) Bricknell (friend from Teachers' College) on: Feb 12, 2018

I met Joan for the first time, almost ten years ago, when I for the first time visited my daughter who had moved to Winnipeg from Sweden. Joan took me to Lower Fort Garry, I will never forget it, she always did a lot of things for me. I will always remember her, she has a special place in my heart, and I know that my grandchildren will miss her, especially Owen; “My Joan”! - Posted by: Gunilla Gryfelt () on: Jan 31, 2018
