ALICE HANNAH HARRISON (EDWARDS)
Date of Passing: Feb 13, 2018
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALICE HANNAH HARRISON (nee EDWARDS) Alice Hannah Harrison, nee Edwards, passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2018, in the home her beloved father built, and in the room she was born in just over 100 years ago, as she had wished. She was predeceased by her husband Bill, her son Scott, her daughters Stacia and Laurie, her sister Grace and brother Cyril, as well as several much loved family members and longtime friends. She is survived by her daughters: Brenda (Ray) and Maureen, as well as her grandsons: Robert (Teresa), David (Lori), Sean, Troy and their families. Mom was a wonderful, independent, stubborn, strong and kind lady who loved and supported her family unconditionally, through the good times, and even more so through the difficult ones. She loved a good joke, gardening, music, nature and her pets, especially her English Bulldogs, and she enjoyed spending as much time as was possible in their trailer at Twin Lakes Beach. The family would also like to thank her long-time caregiver and friend Sandra, who gently cared for her and loved her, and whose generosity will not be forgotten. Mom will be cremated as she requested and her ashes interred, along with those of her son Scott, in the family plot in St. Vital Cemetery at a later date. Donations gratefully accepted in her name to any animal rescue of choice; she would love that. Rest in peace Mom, you have earned it. We love you. E.J. COUTU & CO. FUNERAL DIRECTORS 204-253-5086

I grew up next door to Mrs. Harrison and her family with my parents Duff and Alberta Mollard and brother Dwight - where Mom and Dad resided for 44 years. I hold so many fond memories of times spent with the Harrisons on St. Vital Road, and Twin Beaches. Oh how my mom and Mrs. Harrison enjoyed growing and nurturing their African Violets and talks over the fence. They knew they could always count on each other as neighbours. Mrs. Harrison was such a kind and pleasant person. We had the pleasure of dropping by to visit with her after the death of my mother Alberta. Our sincere condolences to Maureen and family. Also very sorry to hear of the recent passing of your sister Brenda. Dwaine and Shirley Mollard - Posted by: Dwaine and Shirley Mollad ( Neighbour) on: Feb 26, 2018

Maureen, Brenda and your family. My mom and I remember your mom very fondly. She recalls Alice as a friendly woman who always had a warm “hi” across the backyard. I remember Mrs Harrison as my friend’s mom who always made me feel welcome in her home. We think of her whenever we see a bulldog! We are so sorry for your loss, but hope the many, many years you had with her bring comfort. Therasa Hunt and Dorothy Harrison - Posted by: Therasa Hunt (Longtime neighbours) on: Feb 19, 2018

Dear Maureen and family, My sincere condolences on the loss of your Mom. May her memories bring you peace, strength and comfort. I spoke with her on the phone every year on the anniversary of Scott's passing. I worked with Scott at FWI and kept in touch with him after he retired as well. My Dad lives on Spruce St and got to know him too. I know Scott would visit and cook your Mom her Saturday meals and was a great son and man for that matter. If the world had more people like Scott, it would be a better place. Your Mom, Dad and Scott and your sisters are at peace and together again. My thoughts are with you and the family. Sincerely, Carolyn Ranson - Posted by: Carolyn Ranson (friend and collegue of Scott) on: Feb 17, 2018
