EDGAR J.J. POIRIER September 5, 1922 - February 25, 2018 Peacefully, Edgar passed away in the early morning of Sunday, February 25 at Taché (Actionmarguerite) Nursing Home. Born in Shediac, New Brunswick, he grew up in New Castle, New Brunswick. He got married in St. Boniface in 1953, and retired from the Armed Forces in 1973. He leaves to mourn his wife Yvette (née Le Gal) and three children, Raymond, Doris (Michael) and Pierre (Michele). He will also be missed by his two grandchildren, Roger and Natalie Veronneau, who loved him very much. Edgar, the youngest of a family of 11 children, is survived by his one elder sister Melina Tycholiz. Edgar was a 30 year veteran with RCAF and worked another 14 years for Canada Post. During his military career, Edgar was stationed at various locations in Canada and Europe. Loved by his wife and children, he was devoted to his church and Catholic faith. The family would like to acknowledge and thank the staff at Taché (Actionmarguerite) Nursing Home for their excellent care for the last 10 years of his life. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in memory of Edgar may be made to Actionmarguerite Foundation. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with eulogy beginning at 10:45 a.m. at Precious Blood Church, 200 Kenny Street, M. l'abbé Léon Abraham Mubikayi presiding. Viewing will be held one hour prior. Reception will be held afterwards in the attached hall followed by burial at Green Acres Memorial Gardens. E.J. COUTU & CO.
