Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCHRISTINA BURKOWSKI October 17, 1917 - March 6, 2018 It is with great sadness and many tears, that we announce the passing of our Mom, on Tuesday, March 6, with her daughter Nadena, son-in-law Bob, or as she always called him Bob Thompson, and Karla, whom Mom was very fond of, by her side. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend Edward in 1990, sharing 56 years together, her parents, Hofia and Peter Zemianski; brothers, Alex (Mary), Tony (Kitty), Frank (Ella) and Joseph in infancy; sisters, Mary (Marvin) and Jean (Roy); her grandson Alan; niece Diane; nephew Ernie; sister-in-law Stefania (Joe) and son-in-law Bob Cormack (Adeline). Mom was the last surviving sibling. Mom is survived by her children Adeline, Bill, Nadena (Bob), Robert and Thomas; 11 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Mom lived a long and happy life for the most part. She was a go-getter, not afraid to take on any challenge that was thrown at her, or one that she pursued! She was happiest when she was with her children, grand-children and family members. She was very active throughout her life. She loved sports, played bingo, bridge and penny poker with family after a hearty meal, also bowling and painting. Her greatest passion was fishing and she loved to fish with Dad, Mary and Marvin. She was a master angler many times over. After Dad passed away in 1990, Mom would pack a lunch, take her radio and Ukrainian tapes, drive to Selkirk Docks and fish. After her 90th, we would take her, bring lunch, hot tea in a china cup! Mom would always give her catch away. Mom was an excellent cook and baker. She loved to entertain. Mom and Dad's home was always open to everyone "Grand Central Station." Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 13 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel Lawn Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in the cemetery. Pallbearers are her grandsons, Derek, Darrell and Christopher; granddaughter Ashley; great-grandchildren, Diezel and Jake. Due to work commitments, I cannot be with you to honour the memory of your loved one, whom I considered my auntie Chrissie. I am so glad that she was in my life. I remember many good times, like watching the Santa Clause parade on the front lawn, stopping by for coffee after curling next door etc. She will be sorely missed. My condolences to all the family. Love to you all. - Posted by: Elsie Olson (Family friend ) on: Mar 12, 2018

Adeline, My Husband Ed & I Volunteer quite a lot at our Local Legion in Oakville, Ontario, where we cook together when we each Volunteer. When Adeline went out to Winnipeg sometimes a couple times a year, She would come back with Great Stories of the time she spent with her Wonderful Mum & Family. When we drove Adeline to the Airport, I wanted to jump on the plane with her, I felt I knew the Family that Adeline loved so much, Her Mum will be very sadly missed, Stay Strong ALL of you, That's who your MUM was, a strong & BIG Hearted Woman.
