SONIA LOUISE TURNER (nee KORNE) It is with heavy hearts the family announces the passing of Sonia Turner on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at St. Boniface Hospital, at the age of 85 years. Sonia is survived by her husband Ron; son Kim Turner (Michelle); brother Bud (Jeannine); sister Rose-Adelé, as well as many relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Nick and Louise; brother John, and sister Carol. Sonia was born in Cooks Creek, MB to Nick and Louise Korne. Sonia moved to Winnipeg to start her job at the Starland Theatre; from there she went onto many other rewarding jobs including Charlie Sheppard's Bowling / Billiards, as well as her favourite position as a model for artists at the University of Manitoba. Sonia took a break to travel to Vancouver in 1952; there she wed Ronald Edward Turner. They then moved to St. Vital in 1960 where they enjoyed a long life that included welcoming their son Kimbold Wilson Turner into the world on March 11, 1970. In keeping with Sonia's wishes, a Funeral Mass celebrating her life will be held on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church, Cooks Creek, MB.
