ALAN (MUZZ) BJORNSSON
Born: Apr 25, 1954
Date of Passing: Mar 03, 2018
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALAN (MUZZ) BJORNSSON April 25, 1954 - March 3, 2018 It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and papa while wintering in Bucerias, Mexico. He left us suddenly and much too soon. Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 38 years, Trina, his four children: Carly, Jordy (Kayli), Chelsey (Colin), and Torey (Adam) and his eight grandchildren: Dylan, Carson, Brooklyn, Halle, Hayden, Taylor, Brody and Whitley. Also left to mourn his loss are his sister Darlene, his brother David, mother-in-law Irene, brothers and sisters-in-law, Max and Pat, Mike and Terry, and Rob, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Magnus and Kathleen, his father-in-law Mickey and sister-in-law Judy. Muzz was born April 25, 1954 in Eriksdale, MB and grew up in the Lundar area. After high school he went to university for four days, where he said he learned everything he needed to know. In 1972 he began his career with MTS as a Cable Splicer, a job he loved and took pride in, and through his time there made many lifelong friends. In 2010, after retiring from MTS, Muzz and Trina ventured out to Fort McMurray where he worked for Telus and Valard Construction. In 2015, retirement became official, and he and Trina began their winter getaways in Bucerias, Mexico. Muzz enjoyed golfing, fishing, playing pool volleyball in Los Amores and following the Winnipeg Jets, but most of all, he loved his family. He will be deeply missed. A sincere thank you goes out to all those who helped Trina in Mexico, to Nancy and Alex for driving to appointments and especially for translating, to Pete for airport runs, and to Max and Pat, for your love and support throughout this devastating time. Family and friends are invited to join us as we celebrate his memory on Thursday, May 17, 2018 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Lundar Legion Hall. A private family interment will be held at a later time.

My deepest and most sincere condolences, Trina and family. I cherish the many years of working with Al, as well as when we shared accommodations for three winters working in California. I wrote a story about my Papa; I will miss my Papa so so much. I remember me and Papa fishing on the dock and talking hockey with him. The Jets were his favorite. I think that we will all miss him, and it just doesn't feel right fishing without him. Nina will try not to get the Ranger dirty, and that's the way Papa would have wanted it. Words cannot describe what is going through our heads and we will all miss him. He will never be forgotten, love Dylan - Posted by: Dylan (Grandson ) on: Mar 26, 2018

Al and I worked together for so many years on so many projects; like some of the very first Fiber Optics in Winnipeg, and the PacBell/ MTS contract in California. Al worked hard, that is an understatement, nobody could match his work ethic or quality. Al was always humble and so helpful to all, especially the younger Technicians he took under his wing. After the work was completed, Al liked to have fun, and boy did he know how to enjoy himself. One time that I still think about is celebrating the Fibre project at the Polynesian Restaurant in Winnipeg with Tim and Wayne, and then several get togethers in Northern California. Unfornately after retirements, we didn't see much of each other, but tried to keep in touch when possible. Trina and "kids", I know how much you miss him, and I also will miss him. - Posted by: Gerry Rogers (Friend and co-worker) on: Mar 24, 2018
