Condolences & Memories (6 entries)

  • My sincere condolences to the Everett children on the loss of their father. I worked for Doug at Dominion Securities many years ago but I still remember his business acumen and dedication to his businesses. My most prominent recollection however is his utter devotion to his family. I know his children have suffered a grievous loss in his passing. - Posted by: Dale Stewart (Employee) on: Apr 13, 2018

  • Please accept our sincere sympathies. May your sweet and loving memories envelope you all at this sad time. Allan and Evelyn Jacks, Lori and Mark Cullen, Barb and Greg Davenport and Families. - Posted by: Evelyn and Allan Jacks (Friends of the Family) on: Apr 03, 2018

  • I am so sorry to hear about the passing of your father. He was such a gentleman. My dad always admired Sen Everett as a true and honest business man which is something that my dad rarely said. Although 90 is a very good age to pass, losing a parent is so tough. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. - Posted by: Harriet Schiele (Carter) (Friend) on: Mar 30, 2018

  • Many years ago in1970 when I was a Political Science student at the U of M, I was given an assignment to examine the Senate of Canada. I phoned Senator Everett, who graciously invited me to share lunch with him at Eaton's Grill Room to answer my questions and share his personal insights about the real value of our Senate and the important role of Senators. I very much appreciated Senator Everett taking the time to assist me, particularly in recognition of his multiple corporate and political responsibilities and especially since I was a complete stranger to him. I shall always remember him as a decent, thoughtful and caring man who took great pride fulfilling his role in society to the benefit of us all. We have indeed lost a true gentleman who mattered very much. - Posted by: Roger Young (Friend) on: Mar 30, 2018

  • My deepest condolences to Ashleigh and family - on a personal note,I fondly recall a very enjoyable conversation shared with your Dad beside whom I was seated at an ICD luncheon event - he was so very proud of you! I empathize with your loss... Anna Maria - Posted by: Anna Maria Magnifico (Colleague of daughter Ashleigh) on: Mar 29, 2018

  • I first met Sen. Everett in the 1960s when I was in the Young Liberals. He and his wonderful wife allowed us to use their beautiful home on Wellington Crescent for our Young Liberal Tea. I was never turned down by him for any advice, speaking engagements, etc. in all the years I knew him. This is a very sad loss, may he rest in peace. - Posted by: Maureen (Fraser) Anderson (Friend ) on: Mar 29, 2018
