ELIZABETH KLATT Beth was relieved of her pain and passed into serenity in the arms of her husband on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at Concordia Hospital. She was predeceased by her parents, Stephen and Mary Chick, three sisters, Anne, Hellen and Irene, and a brother Walter. She leaves to mourn her husband of 57 years, Alexander; nieces, Sylvia (Pat) Hendrickson; Mary Anne Beavis; and Janice Klatt (Ron Young); nephews, Allan, Russell and Lloyd Klatt (Marlene Rasmussen); Ronald (Wendy) Beavis; Chris and Clarke (Louis) Chick; Thomas Hendry and her close friend and confidante, Millie. At the age of 14, she met the love of her life, Alex, and they spent the next 63 years together, marrying in 1961. She worked for a short period as a Nurse's Aide at Winnipeg General Hospital and later had a position as bookkeeper and often times, a clothing model with a large Winnipeg ladies apparel manufacturer. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a bookkeeper/secretary for Premier Printing Ltd. of Transcona during their start up years. She was deeply in touch with nature, observing and feeding all types of wildlife. Her backyard sanctuary was her pride and joy and was always full of birds, bees, butterflies, rabbits and squirrels. Her love of animals was also dominated by all the four-legged pet friends she lovingly treasured throughout her life. Beth was the personification of a gentle, kind, caring, honest, loyal and respectful human being. May she rest in peace. Cremation has taken place with a family interment at a later date. A Celebration of Life over refreshments will be held on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 401 Kildare Ave. West at 11:00 a.m. If one so desires, a donation may be made in her name to the Winnipeg Humane Society or CancerCare Manitoba Foundation.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • Uncle Alex, Mary Ann, Ronald, Sylvia, and the rest of the family - my heart is with you as you grieve for Auntie Beth. She was a treasure, as were all her family. The Chick family were like an extended family, and I cherish the memory of sharing a birthday celebration with Auntie Beth at Auntie Anne's when I lived in Winnipeg, Easter at Grandma Chick's, and so many other shared times. Grace and peace to you all. Love, Beth - Posted by: Beth Stilborn (Niece of her sister) on: Mar 31, 2018
