CRETA ELNORE GERTRUDE JOYCE (nee PERRIN) Passed peacefully on Tuesday, March 20, 2018. Born, Creta Perrin, at home in Carr's Brook, Nova Scotia, where she spent her childhood and moved to Winnipeg to start her new life and family after serving in the R.C.A.F. during the Second World War. Our mom, gramma and great-gramma passed away at Ste. Anne Hospital at the age of 95 with her loved ones by her side. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Thomas Joyce Junior; and her loving daughter, Karen Russon (nee Joyce). Creta will be dearly missed by her sons, Jim, Larry (Karen) and Tom (Wendy). She will also be missed by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Mom will be missed by many nieces and nephews from one end of Canada to the other. Special thanks to her longtime friends, Alecia Rorrie and Alice Lesage, for making her life so much richer and fuller over the many years. Mom, over her lifetime, contributed so much. From knitting countless outfits for premature babies at Health Sciences Centre and St. Boniface Hospital, to countless mittens, toques, scarves and slippers for individuals at Ronald MacDonald House and the Salvation Army. Sincere gratitude to Dr. Pierre DeMoissac and the staff of the Ste. Anne Hospital during Mom's final days. The family wishes to thank all the individuals of the Ste. Anne Southern Health Home Care for the love and support they have shown our mother. Without this she would not have been able to stay in the home that mom and dad built so many years ago together. In lieu of flowers, the family asks individuals to hug their loved ones and keep them close when they go home tonight. A private family service will take place in the future.
