ROBERT CECIL CRUSE December 23, 1919 - April 4, 2018 We are sorry to announce the passing of our dad who grew up in old St. Vital. He had an athletic nature enjoying many sports summer and winter. During the Second World War he joined the R.C.A.F. and trained in England. He was stationed in Egypt, North Africa, Corsica, Sicily, and Italy. Back in Winnipeg he met and married Tilly in 1948 and built their home on Morier Avenue. They were blessed with two children, Rob and Bonnie. In his lifetime Dad worked for the CNR as a tin smith and carman. Around 1982 he retired. Throughout those working years he never lost his playful spirit. Every weekend without snow his brother Bert would pick Dad up at five in the morning and they went golfing. In retirement he took up downhill and cross-country skiing. He loved music, dancing, collecting records, canoeing and cycling. Also during that time son Rob met Ann and they were married in 1973. Mom and Dad gained another daughter and she became their very strong supporter. He moved to Vista Park Lodge Personal Care Home in 2014, he was well liked by fellow residents and staff. He looked forward to our family visits where we always played crib and he almost always won. He always said he was a lucky man. We were lucky too, that he was our dad. I think when he reflected back he was happy with his life choices and he lived the way he wanted to live. Along with Ann, Rob and Bonnie, he has many nieces and nephews who love and respect him. Cremation has taken place and a service will be held at a later date.
