Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLEIGH (BUD) GORDON CURTIS November 23, 1924 - March 30, 2018 (Aged 93) Leigh "Bud" Gordon Curtis passed away peacefully on March 30, 2018 at the Misericordia Health Centre. Left to mourn his passing are his loving wife of 66 years, Olha and children, Donald (Joy), Cathy (Gary), Graham (Heather) and Brian (Pamela); along with nine grandchildren, Jillian (Terry), Tyler, Jamie (Brendin), Kira (Matt), Naomi, Wojo, Liam, Noah and Joshua; and six great- grandchildren, Avery, Adley, Myka, Logan, Dea and Brinley. He was predeceased by his parents, Leigh and Louise Curtis; his brother Allan and his granddaughter Brooke. After graduating from Dauphin Collegiate in 1941, Bud joined the Navy. Upon discharge from the Navy, he completed his Commerce Degree at the University of Manitoba. On May 6, 1947, he joined the T. Eaton Co. where he enjoyed a lengthy career of over 40 years in various positions, with the audit group, buying and in management. In those years, he made many lifelong friends and enjoyed curling and playing golf. Bud continued to keep in touch with his retired Eaton's friends with yearly golf get togethers. He was an amazing husband and father, spending many family vacations skiing and being actively involved in his children's sports. He was a proud father, grandfather, great-grandfather and fan, attending the many family activities. He spent many years managing hockey teams, even after his children had finished playing sports. Bud's second home with Olha was at West Hawk Lake, where he spent over half a century enjoying his family. They built their first cottage at McKenzie Beach and later moved to lakefront on Moonlight Bay. He always kept himself busy with many projects at the cottage, enjoyed a swim at the end of the day, happy hour on the dock, evening card games and laughs with family and friends. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses, doctors, caregivers and staff at Misericordia Health Centre for their compassionate care, always treating Bud as family. A cremation and private family celebration will take place at a later date. NEIL BARDAL FUNERAL CENTRE 204-949-2200 neilbardalinc.com

A great dad, a true gentleman, none better. All of the family here in Nova Scotia have all shared fond memories of how they came to love my dear ol dad. I'm sure I ended up with a great man cause I had such a good dad. Love you Bud, will always think of you when singing "O Sole Mio " in the shower and playing Stardust on the piano. - Posted by: Cathy Curtis (daughter) on: Apr 07, 2018
