BEVERLEY IRENE FRITSCHY (nee WIEBE)
Born: Aug 22, 1956
Date of Passing: Apr 03, 2018
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBEVERLEY IRENE FRITSCHY (nee WIEBE) 1956 - 2018 It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dear mother, sister, aunt and friend, Beverley Irene Fritschy, on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at the age of 61, with her family by her side. Bev will be profoundly missed by her son and daughter, Palmer and Paige; her sister Linda (John); brothers, Tom (Gail) and Barry (June); nephews, Neil (Patti), Warren (Misty) and Tyler; and niece Lauren (Michael); sisters-in-law, Tina and Teresa; cousin Corinne; best friend Barb; and many dear friends, colleagues and extended family members. She was predeceased by her father Neil, and her mother Berthe. Our mother was born in Winnipeg on August 22, 1956, living her entire life and raising her family in St. Vital, a community in which she formed deep ties. She graduated from Dakota Collegiate where she excelled in academics, athletics (volleyball and basketball), and cultivated many friendships that remained strong throughout her life. Directly out of high school, she excelled in the insurance industry, leading a very successful and rewarding career for 43 years. Bev lived life with passion and commitment. She loved singing, whether in choirs or on karaoke stages, and playing the piano that once belonged to her great-grandmother and that she lovingly restored. She treasured playing music with sister Linda, and brother-in-law John, in and around Winnipeg as part of their band. When brother Tom moved to BC, she enjoyed her visits with him in Oliver. Bev took great pleasure in reading, solving crossword puzzles, baking and in later years, practicing hot yoga. She travelled widely but found her greatest peace at home with loved ones. The highlight of her week was her spirited cribbage games with family and, in 2015, she was elated to be the one to achieve the elusive perfect hand of 29. Above all, our mom loved her family. She was devoted to her mother and was unconditionally committed to the happiness and well-being of her children, putting us ahead of all else. Mom was fiercely independent and an exceptional provider, although she took great pride in her notorious frugality. She created a warm, loving home for us, taking enormous pleasure in watching her children grow and thrive. She loved hearing the belly-laughs rising up when Palmer and his friends gathered in the basement, missing that and more when he moved to Toronto. She cherished her bond with Paige, spending many hours with her on trips and outings and also finding quiet joy with her in the simple activities of daily life. Her kids, in turn, were enriched by the closeness of long conversations with Mom. She filled our lives with her wonderful sense of humour, her boisterous nature and outspoken directness. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Timothy Roman Catholic Church, 135 John Forsyth Road in Winnipeg. Oh my dear friend...how you will be missed. Paige and Palmer, you know how much I loved your Mom, as did my children, Sarah, Quinton and Parker.....especially Parker. The Florida trip we took - the 4 of us Paige...you, Bev, me and Parker aka Allan when we dropped you off for dinner at your auntie's house. The IHOP, Discovery Cove in 45 degree temps., the sales pitch the three of us sat through only to get white powdered donuts and coffee. The reupholstering of the dining room chairs, the chat and bitch sessions that had all of us in stitches. Your Mom and I shared a special bond that no one else had. She knew me and I knew her. It could have been sticky and messy and all together awful between us....but it never was. I loved her more than any other friend I have ever had and I will miss her so very very much. Just a month ago she met my precious granddaughter and she held her for the longest time and her and I were sharing all the latest news....we didn't know it was the last time when we hugged and said our "I love yous" to each other. Many out there will never understand our friendship.....and it was and is not theirs to understand. I know Paige and Palmer that you both understand and I will continue to be that pink-loving, a little crazy and impulsive Sandra-that will carry on loving you both and sharing every beautiful and wacky memory I have of your beautiful Momma. Go rest high on that mountain Bev.....dance and laugh with Brenda, play piano and sing with your sweet Mom, sit and chat with your Dad over a cold one, and try on wedding gowns and princess gowns with Diana-Princess of Wales. You are forever loved. - Posted by: Sandra (Friend ) on: Apr 10, 2018

Words cannot express the sorrow of Bev's sudden passing. I cherished Bev's opinions, her kindness to my son and her worldliness on things I knew so little about. I will miss her asking over the fence on whether she should water her garden or not or if it is time to plant. She said she had no green thumb but her tomato plants were her pride and joy The amazement on her face when she realized she could actually grow some new potatoes. I will miss you terribly Beverley -You were a terrific Mom and the kind of friend anyone would want living next door to them. You certainly helped make my life easier on some days and for that I will be forever grateful. - Posted by: Sheila Selluski (Friend and neighbour) on: Apr 09, 2018

Our Bev lived life large. From the first time we met as do workers 20+ years ago, we became friends. How could one not be drawn to Bev's confidence and big heart? Her laugh always started a round of laughter. Family love surrounded that girl! And as loving and loyal as she was to her wonderful family, she was as loving and loyal to her friends. She brought out the best in us, sometimes by telling it like it was! I know that I have been enriched by being in Bev's life and often thought 'what would Bev do'? And yet, Our Bev had a very sensitive side which made me love her all the more. The world needs more Bev's. My heart hurts today, because it was made larger by being in her shadow. May her family and friends find peace she would so want for us. Much love, Ruth and Alex. - Posted by: Ruth Linden (Friend and former colleague ) on: Apr 08, 2018

So sorry to hear of your mom’s passing. Her smile and radiant smile is a warm memory I will always cherish. No matter how many years passed between our visits, she could always make it feel like only a day or two had passed in between. Linda, my heart is sad for you as you mourn your beloved sister. My hope and prayer is that you will find peace and joy in these difficult days ahead. Tom and Barry, my heart goes out to you as well as you say ‘goodbye’ to your sister.
