Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDOROTHY MILDRED QUIRING (nee LONG) Sadly, on March 6, 2018, at 5:07 p.m., Dot passed away from sepsis and pneumonia at The Oakville Memorial Hospital, Oakville, Ontario. She leaves behind her daughter Barb Black and husband Tom Black of Burlington, Ont. Barb and Tom will miss her very much. Also survived by her son Len Quiring and wife Anna-Marie of Airdrie, AB; granddaughter Lisa Nortoft Daigle and husband David Daigle. Great-grandchildren Layna and Larissa (Calgary, AB) are deeply grieving the loss of Dot. Grandson Drew Black and great-grandson Riot Black of Hamilton, ON, feel deeply over her passing. She was predeased by her mother and father (Mary and Joseph Long). Also predeceased by her sister Marjorie; brothers Bob, Art and Harry Long of Winnipeg, MB. Josie (goddaughter and niece) and Roger Gaida of Gimli, MB, are missing their little angel "Dot" as well as Brian Long (nephew) and Maryanne of Lac Du Bonnet, Manitoba. Dot was born September 3, 1930, in Winnipeg where she was raised. In 1974 she moved to Calgary to start a new life. She was employed by Fairplay Stores for several years in Calgary. In 2013 she moved to Burlington due to health problems. Her final residence was at the Oakville Senior Citizens Home (retirement residence). A very special thank you to all the staff there. Dot will be remembered for her kind heart, generosity, humor and speedy efficiency at cleaning. A very special thank you to Dr. Yip and the palliative care team at Oakville Memorial. Cremation has already commenced. A Celebration of Life will be held in June, 2018, in Calgary, AB. A notification will be placed in this newspaper to advise details.
