Condolences & Memories (6 entries)

  • TIME passes so quickly- it's been 5 years since I visited & took my Uncle to the convenience store across the parking Lot by his residence for an ice cream. That was a lovely visit - he expressed how Nice it was to get out for some fresh air as we rested in the shade with our ice cream treats. Then we made our way carefully across the parking Lot again. I Will always remember him dearly. - Posted by: Jacqueline (Niece) on: Apr 20, 2022

  • My dad's only brother was a special uncle in that he lived closer to us than any of mom's brothers and we would often gather with him and aunt Maggie for Christmas and other special occasions as well as stopping in when we went to the city (Wpg). The youngest of 4 he always seemed to have a more playful side to him than his older siblings. He was adventurous, and spent a few years working in the north as a carpenter. He was more than a career carpenter though; a jack of all trades who could fix or build anything. Numerous times he helped my father and other family members build their houses, garages, renovations, fix cars, etc. Twice I lived at his place, once at age 16 to skate in the city and later to attend university. I have lots of fond memories of time spent at his place or times he & Maggie would come out for visits. He was so much like his father in personality, a hard working, kind hearted, happy go lucky, generous man. I only ever heard him raise his voice once! He never insulted or judged others, his heart was just pure love. <3 He will be cherished and missed by many, especially my aunt Maggie as the 2 of them were inseparable for the duration of their marriage. She and her children, grandchildren & great-grandchildren enhanced his life & brought him joy beyond measure. May his kind soul rest in peace. I sure was lucky to have had him in my life.
