Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKAREN QUA September 4, 1946 - April 12, 2018 Karen Qua, of Winnipeg, Manitoba, died peacefully with her family by her side on April 12, 2018, after a brief battle with cancer. Karen is predeceased by her parents, Gerald and Irene Benoit; and brothers, Ron and Ken. Karen is survived by her husband John; son Michael (Joanne); granddaughters, Jillian and Danielle; sister Gera; nephew James; and sister-in-law Pat. Karen was born in 1946 and raised in Snow Lake, Manitoba. She moved to Winnipeg, where she met John and they married in 1971. Karen worked for the Royal Bank for 20 years where she made many friends. Karen enjoyed socializing, reading and telling stories. She loved to laugh and had a wonderful sense of humour. She was an avid sports fan, cheering on her Bombers, Jets and Jays. Karen curled for many years at the Fort Rouge Curling Club and enjoyed returning to Snow Lake for bonspiels. Karen took up downhill skiing in her 40s and cherished many ski trips to Banff with John and Michael. Karen treasured summers at the family cottage at Falcon Lake. Later in life, Karen and John travelled to the World Series, Stanley Cup Finals, World Junior Hockey Championships, and many warm destinations. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her granddaughters and watching them grow into caring, intelligent and strong-willed young women, just like their grandmother. Karen will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Per Karen's wishes, cremation and a private ceremony has taken place. INTEGRITY Cremation and Funeral Planning 204 295 5408
