KAY MABEL VINCENT (nee STEPHEN) October 5, 1938 - April 9, 2018 Kay passed away peacefully with family at her side, at the Russell Personal Care Home April 9, 2018, at the age of 79. Kay was born in Killarney and was the youngest of eight siblings. Kay was raised by her mom Mabel and her older siblings in Killarney, MB. After finishing high school, Kay worked for the Manitoba Telephone System, became chief operator and received awards for the best kept premises. Kay was a natural beauty and enjoyed participating in beauty pageants in Clear Lake, MB. Kay also had a natural talent for music and could often be found at the piano playing by ear or singing with her group of friends. Kay and Don were married May 20, 1961. They moved to Roblin, MB and purchased the Parkland Bakery. It was here that they were blessed with births of their three children, Kirk (1965), Angela (1969), and Kent (1973). Don, Kay and family moved to Russell in 1979 and purchased Banner Bakery. Kay enjoyed decorating floats for the annual parades and often won trophies for the same. Kay worked fiercely at the bakery with Don, along with raising three children. Kay and Don operated Banner Bakery until retirement in 2011. At a young age of 50, Kay sustained a life altering stroke. With her courage, strength and determination, Kay learned to walk, talk and drive again, overcoming any challenge she faced. Angela left nursing school to assist Kay with rehabilitation over the next year. Kay and Angela developed a very strong bond during these difficult times. Kay's greatest joy was her family and the arrival of her grandchildren, Bryce and Reagan Vincent. Kay's never ending support and unconditional love for her family had always shown through the good times and troubled times. Kay was a very strong lady, often putting other peoples needs before her. Kay also enjoyed curling and bowling with her friends. She enjoyed playing Kinsmen Jackpot Bingo on Saturdays with Angela and Warren. Kay and Don enjoyed cruising the countryside in their Cadillac looking for wildlife or Kay's favourite flower, lady slippers. Kay truly loved animals and always had a pure white cat and a small dog. Kay's happiest times were with her family in Russell and Killarney, MB. Kay also believed in giving back to her community and was a volunteer for Heart & Stroke Foundation and Donors Choice for years. Please remember Kay for her Heart of Gold, beautiful smile, quick wit and her true love of her family. We Love You Mom and will Greatly miss You! See Ya, See ya Later! Till we meet again.
