MARTHA HILDEBRANDT Martha Hildebrandt (nee Schroeder), aged 97 years, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 20, 2018 at the Calvary Place Personal Care Home. Martha was born in Ukraine, and at a young age immigrated to Canada with her family, settling in rural Manitoba (Elm Creek Area). Martha met her husband Peter and they moved to Calgary where he worked in the heavy construction industry and Martha made her way into the fur finishing trade. Peter suffered an early death and Martha moved back to Winnipeg to be near family. Martha was always active in her churches in various capacities, as well as volunteering in the community. She was also passionate about her gardening as well as travelling to various parts of the world. Martha is survived by her son Weldon, brother Cornelius, and sister-in-law Helen. Memorial service will be held on Friday, April 27, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. at Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main Street. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice. The family would like to thank the staff at Calvary Place Personal Care Home for the excellent care that they provided to Martha.
