Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVERA EDNA PRICE December 24, 1924 May 6, 2018 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother at the St. Boniface General Hospital on May 6, 2018, at the age of 93 years. After a brief illness, she passed away peacefully with her family by her side. Left to cherish Vera's memory are her children, Diane Telfer, Don (Connie), Dave (Kathy); seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild;, and three sisters. Vera was predeceased by her husband Gordon Price of 60 years; son-in-law Richard Telfer; and five brothers. Vera was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on December 24, 1924; to Henry and Alma Zorn and was raised in Winnipeg, going out at the early age of 16 to enter the work force in various capacities. In 1946 Gordon and Vera married and they then moved to northern Manitoba where Gordon worked as a plumber-pipefitter in various mining communities. In 1951 they moved to Dauphin and it was there that they raised their three children. It was in Dauphin that mom started to work for Canada Safeway. In 1967 the family moved to Winnipeg. After Gordon and Vera's retirement they enjoyed several years dividing their time between the log cottage they built together at Grindstone Park and their winter home in Arizona. Mom always enjoyed working in her flower garden at the lake where it was known as the Bouchard Gardens of Grindstone Park. Mother also enjoyed birding and spent many hours watching the birds come to the bird feeder and especially the humming birds that came to get a drink of nectar from the feeders. In 1999, due to Gordon's health, they relocated to Brandon, Manitoba, where they resided next to their daughter and son-in-law. After Gordon and Rich's passing in 2007, mom and Diane moved in together and spent many wonderful years in each other's company. In August, 2016, they moved to Winnipeg in order to be closer to family. The family would like to extend special thanks to the wonderful staff in Ward 5E of the St. Boniface General Hospital for their care and compassion towards our mother during her illness. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Vera's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Manitoba Lung Association. INTEGRITY Cremation & Funeral Planning 204 295 5408
