HAROLD RICHARD KLANN February 10, 1928 - May 11, 2018 It is with sadness that the family announces the unexpected passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather on Friday, May 11, 2018 at Concordia Hospital ER. Harold is survived by his wife of nearly 63 years, Edna; sons, Darcy (Linda), Marvin (Nancy) and Brad (Doug), and grandchildren, Amy, Jordan and Jillian (Dakota). Harold is also survived by his only remaining sibling, Doreen of Waterloo, Ontario; as well numerous nieces and nephews. Harold was predeceased by brothers, Raymond, Edmund, Dugald, and sister Alma. Harold was born in Thalberg, MB and grew up on the family farm. As teenagers, Harold and Edmund left together looking for work in B.C. and Northwest Ontario. Harold found employment as a heavy equipment/dragline operator, milk tanker driver and finally learned the meat-cutting trade. He found his "dream" job as a meat-cutter for Safeway where he spent a quarter century. Harold retired in 1992 and spent another quarter century as handyman Grampa. The family would like to thank the first responders and staff at Concordia ER for their efforts trying to save Harold. A Celebration of Life service will be held Friday, May 18, 2018 at 1:00 p.m., at The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 401 Kildare Avenue West, Winnipeg. Lunch to follow the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or a charity of your choice. Bardal Funeral Home in care of arrangements. Condolences: www.Bardal.ca
