Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCLARA KATHRINE DYCK Clara Dyck died peacefully on May 11, 2018 at the Calvary Place Personal Care Home in Winnipeg. She was born on May 16, 1918 in Lysanderhoeh, Am Trakt, Russia to Johannes J. Dyck and Renate (Mathies) Dyck. She was predeceased by her parents; sisters, Eliese Lieschen (David Quiring), Anna Neufeldt (Walter), Irma Balzer (Bernhard), Helene Funk (Abram) and Renata Kroeker (George); brothers, Peter (Elfrieda Klassen), John and Cornelius; and one niece. She is survived by sisters-in-law, Paula Dyck (Regier) and Wilma Dyck (Regier), 24 nieces and nephews and their families. Clara graduated from Rosthern Junior College in 1945 and completed nurses training in Saskatoon in 1948. After 20 years of nursing, she returned to University, attaining MA degrees in both German and English. She subsequently taught at Canadian Mennonite Bible College (CMBC) until 1980, when health problems forced her retirement. Thereafter she worked as a volunteer with the pastoral department at St. Boniface Hospital. A memorial service for Clara will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at Home Street Mennonite Church, 318 Home Street, Winnipeg. Light lunch to follow. Interment at Wheeler Cemetery / Mennonite Memorial Gardens at 11:00 a.m. May 17. Memorial donations may be made to Calvary Place Personal Care Home or Mennonite Central Committee.
