HAROLD STEPHEN KAISARIS January 4, 1955 - May 12, 2018 It is with great sadness, that we announce the sudden passing of Steve, our beloved father, brother, cousin, uncle and friend to many. Stephen is survived by his sons, Gavin (Claire) and Matthew (Becky); his brothers, David (Jennifer) and Scott (Barb); nieces and nephews, Michael, Andrea, Jessica and Taylor; and his former wife of 30 years, Charlotte. Born in Montreal, the family moved to Winnipeg early in Steve's life, becoming lifelong East Kildonan residents. Steve graduated from Kildonan East Collegiate, and spent much of his early years at the local YMCA. Many knew Steve through his 35 years at Kendel Shell, The Y's Men's annual Christmas tree lot, and most recently RS Express where he enjoyed his job and his customers. Steve was the guy who everyone liked, and he always had time to chat in a genuine way, which was how he always knew everyone's names. The family will always remember those great vacations in Florida, wonderful fun around the backyard pool, time out at Caddy Lake and other family trips. Nothing made Steve happier than being with his boys, whether it be watching them play various sporting endeavours or just spending time watching a hockey game. He was proud of the men his boys had become. Steve was predeceased by his beloved daughter Ashley and his parents, Norma and Harold Kaisaris. He will be missed by all and remembered forever. Donations in memory of Steve can be made to Heart & Stroke Foundation of Manitoba. A celebration of Stephen's life will be held at Immanuel United Church, 755 Golspie Street, on Wednesday, May 23 at 1:00 p.m.

  • I too have memories of Stephen and the Kaisaris family. Our families growing up were comfortable referring to each other as cousins and aunt and uncle even though we were not related. Not to forget Herman. The Kaisaris's pet boxer dog. Got to love him too! We were all very active kids and our parents had us involved in everything. Hence the Y.M.C.A. Lots to do there. We have many pictures of those days and other older family members in the McKinnon household will remember more than I but I know I was fond of the Kaisaris family then and even though time lapses nothing changes knowing we had such good people to grow up with in our lives. Thanks guys. I know Stephen will be so missed in all that he brought to everyone's lives. My sincerest condolences to all of you. Hugs from Jill and entire McWhinney family. - Posted by: Jill Palmer (nee) McWhinney (childhood family friends) on: May 21, 2018
