MARGARET PEACE MURCHISON (SCOTT) November 6, 1918 - May 12, 2018 After an amazing 99 years of life, Mom passed away peacefully May 12, 2018. Mom is survived by son Dale, daughter Myra and sister Dody, and is predeceased by husband Ken, son Ian, brother George and sisters, Phyllis and Shirley. Nanna, as she was known as to her grandchildren and great- grandchildren, will be lovingly remembered, as well as by many friends and family. Born in Boissevain, schooled in Brownlee and Minto, as well as Winnipeg, Margaret met Dad in Winnipeg and married him in 1945. Their lives were spent in Winnipeg, mostly Wildwood Park, where the entire family and friends gathered on many occasions. The loving caring matriarch of our family always put others ahead of herself. Her awesome bread, buns and baking were enjoyed by many. We will miss her enduring determination, strength, wit and shots of rye with her. Love you Mom / Nanna, we will miss you! Thank you to Thorvaldson's, Tuxedo Villa and Meadowood care givers. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Riverview Health Centre. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • So sorry to hear of Margaret's passing. My deepist condolences to all of her family. Meeting her a few years back brought great joy sharing stories and past memories. Will always remember her huge smile and big heart. - Posted by: Holly Picard (Friend) on: May 19, 2018

  • To Dale, Myra and families: I was so sorry to hear the news of Marg's passing. She was the last of the group of friends that chummed together for over 7 decades. It truly is the end of an era. After Mom's (Gerry Savage) passing I still maintained contact with her - though not as much as I would have liked. I am very glad I had the opportunity to see her and sit with her the afternoon before her passing. I will cherish that time just holding her hand and talking to her. She was a joy to talk with and was always interested to hear what the Savage clan was doing. She will be missed by many people. May she be having a blast in Heaven with the rest of the old friends. Rest in Peace Marg. - Posted by: Cathy Savage (family friend) on: May 19, 2018

  • Margaret (Nanna) was an amazing woman with an incredibly kind heart, gentle nature and keen wit. We will miss you. - Posted by: Jonathan Morgan (Husband of Granddaughter ) on: May 19, 2018
