NAOMI LUCY KORGAARD January 30, 1939 - May 16, 2018 After a courageous battle with cancer, it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Mom, Naomi Lucy Korgaard, on May 16, 2018, in Edmonton, Alberta. Naomi will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her three children: daughter Wendy (Kevin), her two sons, Glenn and Roger (Nancy); as well as her five grandchildren: Blair (Chantel), Scott (Adrienne), Danielle, Emily and Calum; and her three great-grandchildren: Zoey, Ryker and Sarah. Naomi was predeceased by her mother Lucy, her father Leo and her brother Garth. Naomi was a fiercely independent woman who seldom considered any task beyond her capabilities. She lived alone at her home at Antler Lake, Alberta since July of 1982 and thoroughly enjoyed the freedom, peace, tranquility and solitude that country life afforded her. She was a gifted seamstress, an avid gardener and had a natural flair for interior decorating. She was an artist at heart, creating many lovely oil paintings throughout her lifetime. The creative touch of her paintbrush could be seen on all sorts of surfaces inside and outside her home. Naomi was deeply spiritual and spent many years studying this subject that was so dear to her heart. In her later years, her passion was doing cross-stitch and petit point needlework, completing numerous masterpieces that she proudly displayed throughout her home. At her request, there will be no funeral service. Naomi's family would like to extend heartfelt thanks for the wonderful care and attention she was given by her doctors; the staff and nurses on Unit 42 at the Grey Nuns Hospital; and all of her caregivers at the Palliative Care Unit at Capital Care Norwood in Edmonton. Your constant care eased our hearts and was greatly appreciated. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society. GLENWOOD FUNERAL HOME Phone: (780) 467-3337
