• Over the past few months without my grandpa it had been hard for me to focus on everything because he was always there to tell me I can do it and that I should never give up on my dreams and he has always been there through tough and good times. • Unfortunately over the years I had lost touch with my Uncle but still thought of him regularly. He was the last of the "Riley" boys. When I was younger, Summers were spent in McKenzie Island and I fondly remember Allan and my cousins. My deepest condolences to all the family. • I had the pleasure and the privilege of knowing Al through his adopted granddaughters. I visited with him every week, and got to know about his life of service for children. Al was very involved in fostering for many years, and brought comfort and peace to many children in his care. Even as his health was failing, Al continued to welcome me into his home and provide hospitality. Al's idea of family wasn't restricted by blood, he created a family of people who loved and cared for him in his final days. I will cherish memories of Al, and his legacy will live on in the love he provided to those close to him.
