ESTHER MARIAN BOWEN (nee MOLNAR) August 20, 1935 - May 18, 2018 It is with deep sadness, that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunty, friend and wife of (the late) Bill Bowen. Remaining to cherish Esther's memory are her three daughters, Charlene Dudeck, Wendy (Bruce) Del Bigio, Tracy (Larry) Bowen-Lee; and her five grandchildren, Dustyn (Brenna), Evan, Alec, Aurora and Walker. She is also survived by her sister Lorraine; brother Gerald; sisters-in-law, Beatrice, Myrna and Carol; and brother-in-law Carl Madder. She will be deeply missed by her numerous nieces, nephews and her many friends. Esther Marian was born in 1935 in Otthon, Saskatchewan to loving parents, James and Agnes Molnar, where she lived along with her four siblings on the family farm until the age of 17. Esther eventually made her home in Winnipeg, where she met and married her husband Bill and raised their three daughters. Mom was caring and had a quiet strength, she carried herself with integrity always. Her unconditional love, support and wisdom will remain with us forever. Her home was always open to those in need. She enjoyed company, cooking, laughter, music and card games. Mom was always ready to "SIT UP" for a road trip, and always added a bright light to any gathering. On Friday, June 1, 2018, a non-denominational Service of Remembrance will be held at 1:00 p.m. in Esther's honour, in St. Paul the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 2400 Portage Avenue with Rev. Eric Giddins presiding. A private interment will follow at a later date. Honorary pallbearers will be Bruce Del Bigio, Larry Lee, Dustyn and Walker Dudeck, and Evan and Alec Del Bigio. Special and grateful thanks to the staff at Seven Oaks Hospital, as well as to the dedicated and caring staff at the Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, donations in Esther's memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 1379 Kenaston Blvd., Winnipeg, MB R3P 2T5. YOU ARE "OUR" SUNSHINE

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • I’m so sorry for your loss and my heart goes out to each and everyone of you. As I sit here reflecting on the many, many time I would show up on Esther doorstep. She always open up the door to me with open arms. I would walk around her home check out all her trinkets and more times than not would leave with a bag of goodies. I remember she had this neat hideaway pantry that was my favourite hiding spot for good game of hide and seek. Esther thank you for the love and support that you showed my sister and I. It was nice to live just down the street from you. Forever in our hearts RIP - Posted by: Kristina (Family friend) on: May 29, 2018
