URS ENG On May 27, 2018, Urs passed away peacefully at the Kildonan Personal Care Centre, in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Urs is survived by his wife Myrna and his daughter Michelle (Munson), husband Mark and granddaughter Daniela; and his son David, wife Shawna and children, Dawson, Bella, and Athena; and very good friends, Franz and Ida Boog. Born in Switzerland in 1941, he worked to become a culinary professional. This took him to Holland, England and eventually to Winnipeg, Canada, where he met Myrna and they married in December 1969. Urs was a leader in the Swiss community in Winnipeg and served as the Honorary Counsel of Switzerland. His love of Saint Bernard dogs, especially Ushie, was widely known. Our deep gratitude and appreciation is given to the professional staff at the Kildonan Personal Care Centre, who took care of Urs over the past few years. There will be a private family service only. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society.
