NOELLA MARIE DE MONTIGNY (nee LACROIX) With profound sadness the family again announces the passing of Noëlla de Montigny on November 11, 2017 in Calgary, AB at the age of 90. Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Noëlla will be lovingly remembered for her dedication to her family, her generosity and wonderful sense of humour. Mom was an intelligent, naturally inquisitive, spirited and good-natured woman, seeing the beauty in everything around her and creating beauty with her stunning paintings, craft work and her legendary meals. Noëlla was born into a large family on February 8, 1927 in St. Claude, MB to Paul and Marie Lacroix. After graduating high school, she entered into the study of nursing. She met and married the love of her life, Rosaire (Ross) de Montigny, in Winnipeg and together raised five children of whom they were so proud. Ray de Montigny, Lorraine (Dennis) Ashworth, Louise (Morris) Holoka, Denise (Rick) Balaz and Donna (Dwayne) Yanitski. She was the proud grandmother to 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. After raising her family Mom chose to make her love of children a career, working at St. Joseph's Nursery where she taught, cared for and loved hundreds of children until her retirement. Noëlla was predeceased by her loving husband Ross, and her grandson Chris. Funeral services and a celebration of Noella's life will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Ste. Anne Parish located in Ste. Anne, Manitoba. Private interment for the family.
