DINA PIKL October 30, 1927 - May 26, 2018 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, mother-in-law, godmother, and friend at the age of 90. After surviving the Second World War in Europe, she immigrated to Canada, eventually settling in St. Boniface, to start her family with three children. Dina was predeceased by her son Ed, her parents, and one sister. She is survived by her son, Emil (Pauline), daughter Anna (Ken), Ed's (Diane) extended family, seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, as well as a brother and sister in Slovenia, and one sister in Zurich. She is also survived by many relatives and friends in Slovenia and Winnipeg. Dina was a VERY hard worker who made a fun, loving, and secure home for her family. She still cared for her home, and family, well into her late 80s. Everyone came first, before herself. She was very involved in the Ladies Auxiliary of the Lady of Lourdes, Slovenian Catholic Church until her health would no longer allow it. The family would like to say a special THANK YOU to the very caring staff at the Golden Links Lodge for their care and compassion during the last three years. In keeping with Dina's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral service. A private interment service will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in Dina's memory may be made to Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 10-120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 9Z9. We will miss your BONUS KISSES.
