VERNA LILIAN JOHNSTON (nee CRAIG) December 28, 1931 - May 23, 2018 It is with sadness that the family of Verna Johnston announces her death. She passed away peacefully, at her home in Ottawa, on Wednesday, May 23, 2018. She will be remembered with love by her elder brother, Allan Craig of Ottawa, her daughter Diane (Alasdair) of Ladysmith, BC, daughter-in-law Charlene (Raymond) of Winnipeg, and son Ian of Ottawa, grandsons, Peter (Alana), Robert, David and Mark (Melanie) Lunn, Steven (Marissa) and Kevin Johnston and Warren (Daphne) Johnston, eight great-grandchildren, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her beloved husband Linn, and son Craig. Verna was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba where she met and married Linn on April 7, 1956. They raised their family in Winnipeg, enjoyed 21 summers at their cottage on Lake of the Woods and many winters in Naples, Florida where they made lasting friends. Verna was devoted to her family and friends. She would often appear with cookies in hand and time for a visit. Her grandsons and their families were a particular joy. She will be missed greatly. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make a donation to a charity of their choice or simply take the time to give the ones you love an extra hug in her memory. Rest in Peace Dear One
