I met May back in 1999 when I was doing a residency at Gallery 111 at Manitoba University. May had contacted WAG after she’d seen my name in the press following my residency the previous summer in 1998 - the gallery put us in touch and so we met up in ‘99 - turns out May was a Shepley too! And hailed from the same place my family came from in Derbyshire, UK around Chapel-en-le-Frith. She and Barney were great, loving, kind and fun to be with. I am saddened to hear of her passing. My condolences to her family and loved ones. - Posted by: Alec Shepley (Friend (and possible distant relative)) on: Jul 19, 2018

I worked in the same department as May for some of the best years of my career. She was ethical, moral and dedicated to doing the best job she could in her capacity as the administrator responsible for the operation of the Municipal Assessment Branch. She set a great example for many of us as we started our journey to provide the best service we could to the people we served in the workplace. I was a better employee for having had the opportunity and honor of working with May and getting to know her as the very good person she was. She exemplified the best in everything she did - well done in every respect. - Posted by: Susan Rusk (Working friends) on: Jun 12, 2018
