I met Bruce when he came to work at CPR at 181 Higgins. Bruce and I attended a Slugfest in a bar, which to this day I still comment on being the best concert I have ever been to. His mannerism of putting that one finger up to his mouth is something I never forgot. It is with fond memories that I opened this weekends paper to recognize that face and name. Rest in peace big guy. - Posted by: Conrad Solypa (Co-Worker CP Rail early 1980s) on: Jul 15, 2018

Bruce and I met Feb of 2011 via internet. Since then we continued chatting EVERYDAY - for 7 years we were in constant communication. Last time we chatted was June 4. As days goes by I hadn't heard anything from him. I thought he was just busy or in a vacation, he often visited his twin sister in US if I remember it correctly. But 2 weeks had passed and no signs of him. He had gone online since the last time we chatted. I got worried and emailed him but no answer I tried calling him on his phone but the line is not responding. Today I learned that my good friend had passed away, I am in shock.. he was good to me. Now I know why he hadn't replied to all my messages or email and why his phone number was disconnected. I never met anyone of his family but I wanted to offer my Condolences and my heartfelt sorry for Bruce passing. Bruce and I have been friends for many years. We met in the early 90's when we both worked together at the postal branch of Customs. Bruce had a very gentle soul. In all the years I've known him, I never heard him raise his voice in anger to anyone. He was a gentle giant. Bruce struggled with many health issues but that was something that he kept to himself. He was not a complainer. His sense of humor and sweet nature drew people to him. If you knew Bruce - you couldn't help but like him. I will miss my dear friend and trust he is now free from all pain and in the hands of his maker. - Posted by: Lorraine S (friend) on: Jun 23, 2018

He had such a great sense of humour. I particularly remember Bruce dressing up as Santa at Christmas time in the office. My sincere condolences to his family. - Posted by: Rick Sadler (Retired Former Co-worker) on: Jun 16, 2018

Saddened to hear of Bruce's passing. As others have commented, he was truly a caring, gentle soul with an uproarious gift of humor. I'll never forget his gift of a personalized t-shirt inscribed "Jim Simm Fin-tim-lin-bin-whin-bim-lim bus stop F'tang F'tang Ole Biscuitbarrel." May he rest in peace. - Posted by: Jim Simm (Friend) on: Jun 14, 2018

Bruce was one of the kindest and funniest souls I have been blessed to call friend. I was one of the appreciative audience at 2:00 am on the streets in Chicago. He had an amazing sense of humor and was a quick wit. There is no doubt heaven is a better place now that he is there. Rest In Peace dear man. Your ‘smiling pixie governor’ will always remember you with affection. - Posted by: Karen Reliford (Friend through Toastmasters) on: Jun 12, 2018

I worked with Bruce at CPR, I absolutely loved his humor. Bruce introduced me to Alfred Hitchcock, which was amazing. He was a kind and gentle soul who made me laugh through a difficult time. We did not keep in touch over the years, but I often thought about him and wondering how he was doing. Thank you Bruce for making me laugh a lot! - Posted by: Janice Bauer Hebb (Co-Worker CP Rail early 80's) on: Jun 11, 2018

Bruce was a witty, intelligent and compassionate person. He was one of the finest people I have ever met. May he rest easy. - Posted by: John Melnick (Friend /// Toastmaster) on: Jun 09, 2018

Bruce was amazingly creative, smart, and quick. One of our fondest memories of Bruce was in Chicago at the International Convention at 2:00 a.m., and Bruce delivered his "Wrestling Speech" on the street corner to an appreciative group of people. I also remember working with him on monthly conference promotions years ago, he was so talented. Larry remembers his fellow "Pianisimmo Brother" and how the crowd loved their antics. Rest in peace Bruce, when you're not busy entertaining up in heaven! - Posted by: Sherri Wood and Larry Vilk (Friends through Toastmasters) on: Jun 09, 2018
