ELEANOR DOREY ROGALSKI 1929 - 2018 It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Eleanor Dorey Rogalski (nee Thomas), at the age of 88, on February 27, 2018. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 20 years, Arthur Rogalski in August of 2017. Eleanor was born on March 29, 1929 (born on Good Friday, a fact she would remind us of often with a big smile) in Bangor, Saskatchewan to Oscar and Birdie Thomas. She was predeceased by brothers, Donald and Mervyn, sisters, Margaret and June (Norm) Liebrecht, and her dearly loved son Randy Dorey. She will be deeply missed by her daughter Patricia (Joe) Sidoli, her daughter-in-law Elizabeth Dorey, and her brother Lloyd (Elaine) Thomas. Loving Nana to Tom (Stephanie), Paul (Malaika), Danielle, Samantha, and Great-Nana to Jacob Christopher. She will also be missed by her many nieces and nephews and her extended family. Eleanor moved to Winnipeg with her family when she was in her mid-teens. After finishing school she became a secretary, working successfully for several companies throughout her career. It was during this time that she married her first husband, Ray Dorey and together they raised their two children. They enjoyed travelling, skiing, golfing and playing cards. She also loved to draw and paint. Eleanor had a great love of music and played the piano and accordion. She loved to sing and was a charter member of the Winnipeg Chapter of the Sweet Adelines and sang lead in a quartet called the "Gold Tones". Eleanor's husband Art was an accomplished musician and they spent their last 20 years travelling to dance and polka festivals throughout Saskatchewan and Manitoba where Art would entertain and at times bring Eleanor up to the stage to sing. She lived a full and happy life even through her declining health over the past couple of years. The family would like to thank Tom Keough, Alison Kennedy of Kennedy Cognitive Services and Dr. K. Moran de Muller for their care, compassion and continuing support of our Mom. At Eleanor's request there will be no formal service. Cremation has taken place and a private interment will be held at a later date.
