  • Doug was a great friend. Kim and I speak of him all the time, he had a soft spot in heart for our oldest girl Shauna. We worked together and partied together, best man at our wedding. I am very lucky to know him. Too bad I was so wrapped up in my work in Keewatin that I did not bother to visit him more. He was a great person to be around and he would give the shirt off his back if you were in need. I am so sorry for your loss. love Darcy - Posted by: Darcy Morton (friend) on: Jun 23, 2018

  • Dear Laura, Chris & Chelsea, Please accept our most sincere and heartfelt sympathy at this sad time. Doug and I grew up together in Seven Sisters. We attended school together both in Seven Sisters and Whitemouth. I spent countless hours at his home with his Mom, Dad and sisters Carol and Barbara. I remember riding our bikes together to deliver the Winnipeg Free Press and sitting in the shade shelling peas and shucking corn from his Mom's garden. We had some very special times together in our youth and I will cherish and treasure those memories. I know you will miss your Husband and Dad very much. Please know you are in our thoughts. Love to all. Maggie & Rod - Posted by: Margit MacCharles (nee Kunz) (Friend) on: Jun 23, 2018
