Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEVELYN CHAPUT (GEVAERT) (nee MCBRIDE) 1946 - 2018 It is with great sadness the family announces that Evelyn passed away from cancer on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at the St. Boniface Hospital with her niece, Kim, at her side. Evelyn was predeceased by her husband, Denis, her stepson Kristopher, and her sister Patricia. She will be lovingly remembered by her son Hudson (Annie), her nephew Robert (Selena), her nieces, Kim (Kelly) and Jackie (Joe), and her first husband George (Shelley). She got to meet her granddaughter Dylan Eve who will grow to know her through the memory of others. She had special friends in Sandy and Carol. Evelyn lived a positive life with a joyful attitude, always willing to share a laugh and a cup of coffee. She travelled across Canada, Europe and North Africa, from Marrakech to Tuktoyaktuk. She was a loving wife and mother. She liked the occasional ride on a motorcycle and she loved babysitting for her niece and nephew. In her last years, she found great joy walking the family dog around the neighbourhood. Evelyn was kind to everyone she met and was quickly loved by all who got to know her. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service celebrating Evelyn's life will be held on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. in the Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald Street. E.J. COUTU & CO. George and Hudson, I offer my condolences. It was a great honor to have known Evelyn for the past 50 plus years. She had a great sense of humor and always had a warm smile on her face.
