Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKEN HERZOG On June 20, 2018 Ken went to be with his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, where there is no more pain and suffering. He passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, at St. Boniface Hospital. Ken was born on June 10, 1943 at the family homestead in Seven Sisters Falls, Manitoba. He was a journeyman Millwright at age 21 and at 24 began supervising jobs at Foundation Company. After 10 years in management at Comstock International, in 1978 he and two partners started a business called Kamtar Construction. After five years the partnership split, the company dissolved and he formed Herzog Mechanical Ltd. Later in 1995 Herzog Mechanical Ltd. was integrated with Pydee Engineering. He continued being active in the company until he had to be hospitalized because of his health. He enjoyed golf until after having four hips replaced, he had to give it up. He enjoyed watching various sports on TV, watching his grandchildren grow up, and having an evening drink of Metaxa (brandy). Ken was predeceased by his father, William (Bill) and mother Flora, and two brothers, John and Ron; as well as his good friend and brother-in-law Hap Hoeppner of Calgary, and his mother-in-law Helen Barkman. Ken leaves to mourn his passing, his loving wife Helen, of 38 years; daughters, Tammy (Kim), Leah, Lisa (Scott), and son Leon (Darlene). Ken also leaves behind a generation of cherished grandchildren, Kevin, Rylee, Rebekka, Sarah, Matthew, Audrey, Alyx, Noah and Josiah; a wonderful sister Lorraine Hoeppner of Calgary, and nieces and nephews. In addition to his loving family, Ken leaves behind many dear friends and fellow employees. He enjoyed all the many facets of millwrighting and indentured many men in his lifetime. We wish to thank all the nurses and doctors at ICU at St. Boniface Hospital that helped to make Ken's stay there as comfortable as possible. A service of remembrance will be held Thursday, June 28, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home at 4477 Main Street (West St. Paul). In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice.

I had a dream about Ken last night. Ken always told me when he went to heaven he would get a new body. In my dream I walked into his office and suddenly he got up and was walking across the room without his canes. He was in his new body and he was beaming. He laughed, his laugh filled the room as it always did. It felt so real. I worked for Ken for a # of years. He was the best boss anyone could ask for. I still have many memories of all his stories. Hope you are doing well in your new body. You are missed. - Posted by: Anonymous (Employee) on: May 24, 2023

One day having while enjoying a cold drink Ken asked me to help with billing on a job. 10 years later I was doing payroll, answering phones, and handling billing. They were 10 fun years that I will always remember, and the best boss anyone could ask for. And always a cold Canadian when needed. You are missed Ken. - Posted by: jim emmonds (friend) on: Jun 27, 2018
