RANJAN SHAH Ranjan Shah passed away peacefully on June 20, 2018, at the age of 83, surrounded by her family. She will be dearly missed by her beloved husband of 56 years, Arvind, her loving daughters, Ketki (Bruce) and Seema, and her granddaughters, Kamilah and Lineo. She was a devoted and loving sister to Kanta, Kokila, Jyotsna and Hemu, who survives her. She loved and was loved. Ranjan was born and raised in India. She eventually settled with her family in Winnipeg, Manitoba, where she lived for 49 years, until her recent move to Vancouver, BC. She had a way of endearing herself to others, capturing many hearts along the way. Among her many talents, she had a special knack for working with children and was an amazing cook, modifying recipes to create her much sought-after signature versions of everything from enchiladas to baklava. Her family will always remember her generosity and kindness to others, her unflagging love and dedication, as well as her strength and her sense of humour, which were apparent even in her final days, joking with her doctors and nurses despite feeling unwell. The Shah family would like to offer their thanks to all the friends and relatives who have offered their support during this difficult time. We would also like to thank the staff at Mount St. Joseph Hospital (ER and HAU) and St. Paul's Hospital ICU for their attentive care and kindness. An extra special thank you to Dr. Adam Peets for the extremely thorough and exceptional care he provided, the compassionate and respectful manner in which he treated our entire family, and going above and beyond to ease suffering. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Hamilton Harron Funeral Home, 5390 Fraser Street, Vancouver, BC. Hamilton Harron Funeral Home

Sincere and heartfelt condolences to the Shah family. Mrs. Shah talked a lot about her 2 daughters and a bit about her husband. She was a generous person. On occasion she would bring to work some of her home made baklava, and I especially liked her peanut butter cookies. Mrs. Shah was not a woman easily forgotten. Even though I will not be there in body for her service, I will be there in spirit. - Posted by: Avril M Coutou (co-worker @St. Norbert Children's Centre Inc.) on: Jun 25, 2018
