MAY BARNES Our mother and grandmother, May Doreen "Maisie" Barnes (nee Christian) passed away peacefully on June 21, 2018 at Park Lane Terrace in Paris, Ontario. Maisie is predeceased by her husband Joseph Edward Barnes (December 3, 2010) and is survived by her children, Angela Czerwinski, Glynis, Nicholas (Gillian) and Joanne (Stuart) Austin and her grandchildren, Sarah, Dominic, Laura, Luc, Anissa, Callum and Cody. Maisie was born on May 16, 1929 in Walsall, England. In her late teens she made an adventurous solo trip to post-war Holland and later joined the Women's Royal Air Force. It was here that she met and later married the love of her life, Corporal Joseph Barnes. The couple raised their children in England and in 1975 began a new adventure immigrating to Brantford, Ontario. Here Mum enjoyed New Comers and Dinner Club; she loved sewing, painting and flower arranging. In later life Mum and Dad enjoyed travelling, spending time with their grandchildren and being part of the United Church. A small family gathering will take place at a later date where Maisie and Joseph's ashes will be joined. The family would like to thank the nurses and personal support workers at Park Lane, Twin River for the care they provided Mum in her last years of life. We will miss you Mum. Until we meet again.
