Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCAROLYN LOUISE STADLER March 23, 1954 - May 4, 2018 Carolyn Stadler of Winnipeg, the second daughter of Lilja Smith (nee Anderson) and Wilfrid Arthur Smith, suddenly and unexpectedly from complications of a serious ongoing illness. Carolyn passed peacefully in her sleep. Carolyn was a sweet and gentle soul of unparalleled beauty, whose kindness to others knew no limits. She was highly intelligent, bright, charming, always positive and cheerful, often giving help and encouragement to others, even while facing her own challenges and adversity. Carolyn was a fighter and survivor. No one who knew her expected to lose her so soon. Carolyn was always adapting and remaking herself through courses and diplomas from various colleges and university. She was a dedicated, long term volunteer with numerous organizations including the Winnipeg Zoo and the Winnipeg Folk Festival. She was a loving mother to her son Marek and the loving owner of her two precious cats: Simba and Snowy (who had just recently predeceased her). Carolyn loved Art, Jazz and Classical Music, photography, the outdoors and her garden. Carolyn will be deeply and profoundly missed by everyone who knew her, by her only son Marek, by her older sister Bev Smith in Montreal, by her younger sister Sharon Bewza in Campbell River, BC, and by her former husband and close friend Martin Stadler, who along with her son Marek had diligently supported her through her illness and were by her side during her final days. A Celebration of Life by her closest family and friends will be held at the Edward J. Coutu Funeral Home, 680 Archibald in Winnipeg, on Friday, July 6 at 5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Carolyn's name to "Winnipeg Jazz" or to the "Winnipeg Art Gallery".

Dear Marek - So sorry to hear about your mom, we only heard today that she had passed. We were saddened to hear the news. She was a wonderful caring person and always volunteered her time with many different organizations. We met you and your mom through Boy Scouts. Which was one of the organizations that she volunteered with for many years and we have many wonderful memories of our times together in scouting. - Posted by: Gail and Felix Adolphe (Friends) on: Nov 13, 2018
