Condolences & Memories (7 entries)

  • Many memories to cherish of evolving in Flin Flon; but one stands out more than the rest that occurred in Grand Forks North Dakota. Many years ago, when our children were much younger than the years they've lived, and have now achieved what is dubbed middle age, we met and dinned with David & Jo-Anne and Roger & Anne Cathcart. Much laughter & joviality, along with gentle banter ensued creating an indelible moment to be fondly recalled from time to time. Sad to say, it was the last time I saw David; and am so sorry for your loss. David is in a safe place now, and all his pain is gone. My prayers are with you and your family to help you through your sorrow. God Bless you. - Posted by: Bernard (Ben) Struch (also former Flin Floner) on: Aug 01, 2018

  • Sincere sympathy on the loss of David. May all the good memories help to get you through this difficult time. We wish you and your family well. May God bless you all. Janice Stozek - Posted by: Janice Stozek (Cousin to David ) on: Jul 15, 2018

  • David, there will be no more pain. We will miss you. You are one of a kind. A true friend and long time neighbor. A person of many talents - poet, painter, story teller, golfer, fisherman and hunter. I will miss you. Dave Little - Posted by: David Little (Neighbor ) on: Jul 11, 2018

  • Dear Joanne. Please accept my best wishes at this sad time. We have to somehow grieve and yet be strong at the same time. Dave and I were roommates at University in the early 60's and enjoyed each others' company a lot. I, as well as many people, I'm sure, loved Dave. He was a pretty special guy. I hope you're doing ok. Please look after yourself. Peace and love to your family.....Jim Senka - Posted by: Jim Senka (good friend) on: Jul 10, 2018

  • Jo Ann & family: I send you heartfelt hugs & condolences. I remember Dave's wonderful sense of humour & the ridiculous. We have 3 of his water-colours he did in the late 1960's that so accurately reflect his nature. We have them hanging in our den. They bring a smile whenever I glance at them, and guests never fail to comment on them. I know your love, faith & strength of spirit will see you & your family through this time. My thoughts are with you, Jo, & my heart will sing for David as it did for you both at your wedding. Carla - Posted by: Carla Coombes (Friend) on: Jul 07, 2018

  • Perhaps Thomas Jefferson said it best. "The happiest moments my heart knows are those in which it is pouring forth its affections to a few esteemed characters." Thank you my esteemed friend for the memories. I will be forever grateful that God allowed our paths to cross, for the opportunities to share so much, for the comedy and life lessons. You will be remembered, never fading in our hearts or minds because the relationship we enjoyed lives on. God bless you. My sincere condolences to Jo Ann and family - Posted by: Garry Harland (Friend) on: Jul 07, 2018

  • So sorry and saddened to hear of David's passing. I will always cherish the memory of being bridesmaid at your wedding, attending your 25th and the wonderful milestone of your 50th just a few months ago. You all truly had a wonderful man in your lives and a gentle soul that will be missed. - Posted by: Pat Nicholson (Todd) (Cousin) on: Jul 07, 2018
