CURTIS AFFLECK
Born: May 02, 1959
Date of Passing: Jun 26, 2018
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCURTIS AFFLECK It is with great sadness that the family regrets to announce the sudden passing of Curtis Keith Affleck on Tuesday, June 26, 2018. He was predeceased by his parents, Margaret and Keith Affleck. Curtis will be missed by his only son Collin; brother Murray (Bev); nephews, Aaron (Payton, Carter), Cory, Graeme (Kristina) and Casey (Jenna). He also leaves his Auntie Betty Steinhauesser of Thunder Bay, as well as numerous cousins. Curtis was born in Kenora, Ontario on May 2, 1959. He loved the outdoors. In his youth, Curt excelled at any sport he chose to try. Whether it was water skiing, golf, squash, curling or downhill skiing, he could challenge the best! After graduating from high school in Kenora, he began a career with CP Rail, but Curt had a gift and that gift was in sales. He left Kenora to begin with AT&T in Winnipeg, moved into auto sales and for the last 15 years he was selling Real Estate. We didn't see Curt often in Kenora during the winter months but in summer he would make several trips "home" to do what he truly loved, and that was to fish on Lake of the Woods. This is where Curt found peace. He loved to head out to his favourite spots with his son Collin, his nephews or often on his own. The family would like to thank Winnipeg EMS, and the doctors and staff at the Health Sciences Centre for their attention and care for Curt during his time there. The family would also like to thank his many friends for all their love and help over the years. Cremation has taken place and his remains will be interred with his parents in the family plot at Lake of the Woods Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Kenora Curling Club on Tuesday, August 7, at 1:00 p.m. www.voyagefuneralhomes.com

It’s been 3 years Curt that have passed so quickly. Hard to believe. I look at it as the 4th summer missed fishing on LOTW. Yours and mine favourite place! We laughed till we cried so many times and I think of that so often. I pray for you Curtis all the time that you are casting your rod up there in heaven and making the people around you laugh. You are back with your mom and dad and that gives me comfort. You were such a good friend and difficult to replace. Continue to Rest In Peace. Very saddened to hear Curtis has passed on. He was a very nice and unique human being who will travel with me and always be remembered. I met Curtis working with him at Royal Lepage in Winnipeg. We developed a friendship and understanding of each other quickly and I admired his gumption and his attitude. He made a few observations about life that were profound and that I think about a great deal and appreciate. My thoughts are with you and your family Collin. - Posted by: David De Leeuw (Friend ) on: Aug 14, 2018

I’m so sorry Col that you lost your dad so suddenly! I can’t imagine what you are going through! You know his wish for you would be to forge on, as he always always did! He taught me to expect to get knocked down but always always get back up again. I will never ever forget and will forever cherish when you were a kid maybe 6 or 7 and the 3 of us would bomb across Lake of The Woods your dad knowing every reef there is in the extraordinary huge lake... He knew where all the fish were. He was a huge personality and we had some good, clean fun in our times laughing till we cried. He could sell a dead horse he was such a good salesman. I will forever miss him! Please take care of yourself Colin. I am praying for you hard every day. I will see you in Kenora. - Posted by: Rick Hannah (Longtime friends Sailing, Fishing and living life kind of Buddy) on: Jul 17, 2018

To Colin and Murray, Colin, sorry to hear of Curt's passing; he left us way to early. It's going to be tough for a while, but never forget him, he will send you a message that only you will know, and just know he is watching over you. Murray, you lost your kid brother brother, no matter what don't forget the good times you had with him. He's gone but certainly had that personality that we will never forget. Good bye friend John, Sharon, Olivia and Peter - Posted by: John O'Flaherty (Friend) on: Jul 09, 2018

I was so sorry to hear of Curt’s passing. Curt is synonymous with Lake of the Woods. Curt was either on the water or in the water, always with a huge smile on his face. He was the life of any get together we had in our high school days and I will always remember his zest for fun and adventure. Our condolences to his son Collin and all his family. - Posted by: Sandy and Jim Bonar (Childhood friend) on: Jul 08, 2018
